The 2021  PCI Convention got underway May 18th with the kick-off of committee meetings. The convention format offered a mix of both in-person and virtual options. The in-person attendance stood at about 65% of what a “normal” year would have been. Those attendees who arrived in NOLA were happy to share some “face time” with colleagues they haven’t seen in a while. The virtual and in-person attendance combined  brought the attendance rate very close to a typical year. This year, PCI and PCI Gulf South partnered to conduct an Architect’s Day Seminar. With just over 54 attendees, four seasoned precast industry presenters gave the crowd an overview of what it means to design, fabricate and install architectural precast. Followed by a walking tour of the World War II Museum (Gate Precast) and parking structure (Tindall), the attendees received an incredible view of the architectural side of the capabilities and versatility of precast.

Alongside the convention, The Precast Show offered attendees information on everything from admixtures to release agents to reinforcements. Walking the show floor is, for many, the highlight of their attendance at conventions each year. Next year, the convention will travel to Kansas City. See y’all there!
