The annual PCI Convention was held in sunny Columbus, OH and garnered a record number of attendees. Over 5,100 precast enthusiasts attended the Precast Show this year. Of those, 1,018 were from PCI alone, as well as 147 students from universities from all over the country. Among the many highlights at the event, The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa received the award for the Big Beam contest. Actually, Alabama won both 1st and 3rd place for the competition. Roll Tide!

The annual “passing of the gavel” from outgoing chairman to the incoming chairman also took place at the Precast luncheon. PCI Gulf South producer member Matt DeVoss of Jackson Precast passed the chairmanship to Matt Ballain from Coreslab. Great job Matt and thank you for your leadership.

Another highlight of the annual Convention was the PCI Foundation’s Project Precast. This contest includes architectural and construction management students from various colleges that are mentored and sponsored by both producer companies and vendor members. The students are organized in teams and compete to virtually build a “project” and then present their design and implementation. The specific project is not known by the students until they arrive at the convention. Congratulations goes to Team Metromont for winning the  $ 4,000 overall prize!  Join us next year for the Precast Show and PCI Convention in Denver, CO on February 6th through the 9th 2024.
