PCI Marketing and Sales School
Registration is open for the 2024 PCI Marketing and Sales School taking place June 27-28 in Chicago. This is an ideal opportunity to increase your knowledge about marketing and sales strategies and techniques, as well as learn more about PCI’s programs and resources.
Mississippi State Studio
Mississippi State is in the final year of its PCI Foundation Studio Program. This year's studio project is a museum. To begin this final semester, the students toured the Jackson Precast production facility on January 31st. Showcasing its versatility as a precast plant, Jackson Precast (typically an architectural manufacturing plant) was in the process of producing transportation-related panels for the Mississippi Dept. of Transportation when the students toured. The students also got to see a project for NASA, which includes exposed aggregate and abrasive blasted panels.
The Friday following the plant tour, the students were introduced to more precast/prestressed products with presentations from Matt DeVoss, Jackson Precast, Jimmy Riccio, Architectural Polymers, Andrew Westfall, Tom Moore, and Jake Weaver with Tindall Corp.
PCI Convention
PCI’s Annual Convention was held February 7th through the 10th in Denver, CO. The Denver Convention Center was the site of the committee meetings which is where all of the work for the industry happens. Other convention events included the Student Posters, Project Precast, and the PCI Foundation After Dark. Along with the Convention, NPCA conducted its annual Precast show. This year over 300 vendors showcased their products and services. I want to offer a special shout-out to Professor Alexis Gregory from Mississippi State University for her award for Community Engagement. Alexis's award came as a result of her involvement with Habitat for Humanity during the studio program two years ago. We would also like to congratulate Jane Martin with Gate Precast in Monroeville, AL, and Barry McKinley with PTAC for their induction as PCI Fellows. The industry is fortunate to have such dedicated and talented individuals. It’s always enjoyable to meet up with friends and colleagues at the convention. Plan to join us next year in Indianapolis for more work and fun.
PCI Quality Control
PCI offers training courses (QC Schools) to prepare individuals for PCI personnel certification examinations. It is important to note that passing an examination satisfies only one of the requirements of personnel certification and that the final decision on certification is made independently by the PCI Quality Assurance Department.

The Productivity Tour is Back!
The 2024 PCI Productivity Tour and Quality Summit takes place April 30 – May 2 in King of Prussia (Philadelphia), PA. Jointly sponsored by The Productivity Committee and The Quality Enhancement Committee, this 3-day event includes a half day Quality Summit followed by two days of plant tours and culminates with a spectacular marketing event at Top Golf.
PCI Bridge Design Manual Update
We’re excited to announce the release of the 2023 PCI Bridge Design Manual 4th Edition. This update is the culmination of many years of committee and expert efforts. This manual has been recognized as a comprehensive guide since 1997.
