One of the invaluable components of a PCI Foundation studio are plant tours. Plant tours offer students an up close view of what producers do and what goes into producing a quality precast product. On Friday, February 18, the students from the Mississippi State studio program descended on the Jackson Precast plant in Jackson, MS. This particular studio program consists of 84 students and is composed of both architectural students and construction sciences students.
Part of the visit was a tour of a project completed jointly by both Jackson Precast and Tindall Precast in Moss Point, MS. That project, named the District of Eastover, contains both architectural precast produced by Jackson Precast and a parking structure manufactured by Tindall. The architectural students also had the opportunity to tour Miss. State’s Jackson Center and hear from Adam Haver and Ben Kitchens from JH&H Architects. The construction management students visited with Brasfield & Gorrie Construction company.
